I usually don't comment much on what I post, only point you there, and,as FOX would say"You decide".In this case I must give my 2 cents and then some.
I had heard many years ago about a "Urban Legend "of a formula captured by the US Military towards the end of WW11 from the Nazi's for making synthetic oil. This synthetic oil formula was then hidden in the basement of Texas University at the behest of the oil industry till future needs.I always thought there MIGHT be some small history behind the legend if only because of
synthetic rubberbeing invented back then and you all driving now on
Mobil ! oil. Well now my thoughts are far more darker and disillusioned as apartheid and fascist politics enter the equation. As a child coming of age in the 60's perhaps I have been jaded beyond hope.Still simple US oil profit seems small compared to the issues of South African politics and their citizens suffering thru the years.
I'll end with one other simple observation. There was a scene in
"Raiders of the lost Arc"in which a old warehouse clerk is pushing the crated Arc to be piled with many ,many other crates as Indy had earlier stated, and I paraphrase "They have no idea what they have there"Perhaps that was again what the US did stupidly while much brighter South Africans used to there own advantage. At any rate,I have never been so shocked and disillusioned since Vietnam. You must read that article at TIME and use your good common sense to decide if this story is but the tip of a much darker and as yet undisclosed "Dirty little secret"
